an ind. black canary, a.k.a. dinah drake. kinda selective & semi-private; limited activity. as portrayed by rhian & inspired by brenden fletcher's 2015 black canary with some personal canon.
Gotham felt like a constant chill, resting uneasily within her spine and spreading throughout her entire body. her time there was short lived and even then kara couldn’t wait to leave, especially with the city’s perpetual grey storm cloud looming over her head. flying high over the city, she had nearly reached it’s limits, ever closer to returning home to national city… though a shrill sound quickly drew her attention. even above the buildings kara heard it crystal clear; her altitude dropped abruptly, flight path altered, having been drawn to the sound like a moth to flames.
Kara followed it towards the ground, dropping out of the sky like a comet to strike the earth, only to be met with the sight of men collapsing to their knees, hands clasped over their ears. she turned to the source, a woman, ❛ whoa——how did you do that? ❜
dinah relied on the power of her canary cry on few and far between occasions — for example ones such as this: foolish thugs believing strength in numbers or bulk was enough to take down the black canary. she was tired. and she was annoyed. two things that when eclipsing over a fight? resulted in the shrill and sharp of her cry. a huffed smirk fled parted lips with amusement, only vaguely startled by kara’s sudden appearance on the scene.
a swift analyzation gave way to her figuring she had plenty of time before any of the men recovered to regard her fellow blonde.
❛ — i think a better question is did that not killyour ears too— ❜ kara’s outfit then registered to dinah and she gave a sigh; not about kara but about the possibilities of justice league being not far off. ❛ mmm, i’ll explain if you help me deal with these idiots… they tried to scam this club out of some money and then some with some colorful threats. ❜

ON ACTIVITY: as i do have other blogs, all of which are in varying states of limited or minimal activity due to life and work? this blog shall follow that as well — not to mention it will begin as a voice test.
ON SHIPPING: i don’t have a lot of ships that i am bound by in my head for dinah, just know that i view her as bisexual with a heavy leaning being borderline demisexual. i also do not see her holding a preference on gender. i am open to mutually exclusive shipping, but please do not pursue it with me if you are not okay with multiship --- my blog is not singleship.
ON STATUS IN CANON: the biggest aspect i'd like for people to remember? i am writing dinah drake, not dinah laurel lance --- in that i am not including any canon from withing the arrow universe. my portrayal is mainly that of her prime earth (or 'new 52') universe with heavy influence and inspiration drawn from her current 2015 solo run from brenden fletcher.
ON GORE / SMUT: as with all of my blogs, i’m more willing to write the prior than the latter as long as it makes sense to the interaction of our muses and or character development. the latter is something i am only really comfortable writing as implied or fade-to-black.
ON PLOTTING: i am always down for this and love to plot out verses (especially au's or ship specific ones) and or new ideas! so, always feel free to hit me up by whatever means we have shared about ideas you might have!
