i don’t mind the curiosity at all!
i’m going back to school actually — right now i’m a certified home health aide and in the medical field… but, it’s not quite what i wanted in the long run i think? which is not to say i dislike it or it’s a bad field to be in, but there are some rough elements in finding work for it and my specialty in it for the moment. and so i am going back to school for a game design & development program as i would like to venture into the gaming industry.
her world was surrounded with metahumans (including herself)and magic and aliens to say the very least of things. what was before her did not unnerve or unsettle, even if she couldn’t quite discern if they were introducing themselves to her or offering something else. given so little context, and even less to go off of? she would with that in mind, move forward with the assumption of the prior listed sentiment. in all that was above, there was a softness in her features as she looked to groot.

something akin to a long-suffering sigh is expelled easily as the blonde tilts her view to current company with a touch of exasperation. a million conceivable retorts come to mind ; some of which are well, less than kind and dinah feels the urge to bite her tongue… in the end, her choice of words falls squarely on an edge of snark, hoping to avoid sounding toocondescending.

incredulous was perhaps the best choice of descriptor for the shift in her features as she stared at dick grayson — there were times where she worried about his sanity, among many other things.

yup, m’dear anon! dinah in the current run (or rather brenden fletcher’s 2015 black canary comic) goes by d.d. and is the lead singer of the band, black canary. they don’t completely erase her backstory or anything, but it is important to know that in this she is dinah drake (not dinah laurel lance). and, my portrayal is a mixture of fletcher’s universe and some of my own headcanon.
if you’re curious? these are a couple posts that are of import to both the current run and mainly my own portrayal:
dinah holds the kiss happily for as long as barbara allows, leaning closer to take in the other’s presence and space. a smile tasted, a smile widening. her boldness in pressing into it further falls away strangely for a half beat when the sentiment finally breaks giving way to an odd shyness.

ON ACTIVITY: as i do have other blogs, all of which are in varying states of limited or minimal activity due to life and work? this blog shall follow that as well — not to mention it will begin as a voice test.
ON SHIPPING: i don’t have a lot of ships that i am bound by in my head for dinah, just know that i view her as bisexual with a heavy leaning being borderline demisexual. i also do not see her holding a preference on gender. i am open to mutually exclusive shipping, but please do not pursue it with me if you are not okay with multiship --- my blog is not singleship.
ON STATUS IN CANON: the biggest aspect i'd like for people to remember? i am writing dinah drake, not dinah laurel lance --- in that i am not including any canon from withing the arrow universe. my portrayal is mainly that of her prime earth (or 'new 52') universe with heavy influence and inspiration drawn from her current 2015 solo run from brenden fletcher.
ON GORE / SMUT: as with all of my blogs, i’m more willing to write the prior than the latter as long as it makes sense to the interaction of our muses and or character development. the latter is something i am only really comfortable writing as implied or fade-to-black.
ON PLOTTING: i am always down for this and love to plot out verses (especially au's or ship specific ones) and or new ideas! so, always feel free to hit me up by whatever means we have shared about ideas you might have!
